It lathers soap well and holds suds pretty well. However, the sponge's ability to exfoliate could be better. Also, some reviewers have complained about the sponge being a bit stiff and not softening up, making it difficult to get all the soap out. Despite these issues, the Consensus is that this is a good quality sponge, and the price is right. It's significantly better than poofs or natural sea sponges that fall apart too quickly.
