This Aqueon filter is a great value for its price and is recommended for tanks ranging from 75 to 125 gallons depending on the livestock in the tank. It has three nested baskets which filter water through ceramic filter rings, bio-balls, and filter media, with the option to add a prefilter to the intake. It comes with a spray bar and hangs on the tank, making it very easy to install, and is generally very quiet. Though some reviewers found it to be noisy, rattle, and difficult to prime, these seem to be isolated incidents. One reviewer even found the filter to be so effective that they were able to go two years without cleaning it fully. However, another reviewer found that after a month of use, the filter's effectiveness was reduced, and it heated the water up above 80 degrees.
